Update on some big changes at Mullen High School. Over the holiday break, we were able to have new main doors installed at the high school on the west side of the building and we have updated the security system. Mullen High School is now locked down, which is exciting news for the safety of our school. With these changes, it has created some new protocols for entering the building. From now on, all none key holders/none staff members will be required to buzz into the school, sign in, grab a visitor badge, and sign out when you leave. This is the protocol that both Mullen High School and Mullen Elementary will follow as it meets the requirements set forth by the Nebraska Department of Education. With the updates to the security entry system, this has created a change in all cardholders status as it makes the old white key cards obsolete. THE WHITE KEY CARDS WILL NO LONGER WORK. If you have a gym/weight room membership, you will be required to come to the high school office to get your new key faub from Mr. Kuncl, Mr. Kvanvig or Pam Ginkens. The process does not take very long and if you call ahead, we will be able to have it completed when you arrive. Thank you for your flexibility while we make these updates for the safety of our school.
Reminder- the Basketball games scheduled in Wallace today begin at 1:00 MST with the Girls JV playing 3 quarters and JV Boys 2 quarters. The games will be followed by Varsity Girls & Boys. If you can't make it to Wallace, the games will be streamed on the Wallace Striv channel at https://striv.tv/channel/wallace/. Thank you for your support of our Mullen Broncos!

At the Paxton tournament on December 20, participating teams including Mullen, Paxton, Garden County, and Maywood-Hayes Center, are going to have a Black Out Cancer Fundraiser tournament. The teams will wear their Black Out Cancer shirts and proceeds will go to cancer research or to someone in the community. Black Out Cancer has raised $15,000 for the fight against cancer in the past two years with the help of high schools from across the state. We want you to join the fight against cancer. How It Works Participating teams and their fans wear the same Black Out Cancer shirts during basketball warm ups and sell the shirts to their fans. It is very similar to a “Pink Out” in volleyball, but schools from across the state wear the shirts on the same week. This year the Black Out Cancer week will be from Monday, December 17th through Saturday, December 22nd. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the fight against cancer. This is a 100% volunteer effort by Adam Stolzer and Chase Hoffschneider. Shirts are sold and the donations go towards fighting cancer. Donations will be given to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for Cancer Research or the donations will be given to someone who is battling Cancer. How do shirt sales work? Shirt sales will close on Friday, December 7th. Online Order Form: http://www.mrbtees.com/copy-of-black-out-cancer-shirts All T-Shirts will be delivered to Mullen High School on December 17 and sent home with your student. Why do we do this? Cancer affects everyone in Nebraska. It is impossible for someone to not know an individual who has been directly affected by cancer. We want to raise funds to fight this horrible disease and show cancer patients and their families across our great state that not only their community supports them, but all of Nebraska. I hope you decide to join our fight against Cancer. If you have any questions, please email Chase at BlackOutCancerNE@gmail.com
Happy Birthday Fayth!

Students of the month are drawn from tickets that can be earned every day for doing exceptional things throughout the school day. Each month the tickets are trashed after the drawing and new ones have to be earned in order to win the next month. Both winners get a shirt and the high school student that wins gets 10 free snack machine tickets or premier parking for 1 month. A student may only win once per school year but can win other prizes if drawn more than one time. This year we count the total tickets each student receives and there are two grand prizes at the end of the year for the total ticket winners. 6th Grade Keragan Welch daughter of Ron and Marcia Roman, & Junior Molly Paxton, daughter of Dusty and Mindy Paxton
