I was born in Minden, Nebraska the home of Pioneer Village and also called the Christmas City. During the Christmas season the courthouse is decorated with 100,000's of lights and a pageant is put on Sundays. Graduated from MHS in 1982 and started my academic future. I have worked in the automotive industry, all phases, in a new car dealership. Had a major life decision and decided to get my teaching certificate and do what I've always wanted to do, teach! This summer (2018) I packed up my belongings and moved from Kearney to Mullen to become the High School Math Instructor.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Physics, Cum Laude, from the University of Nebraska- Kearney. I then studied at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina in Nuclear Engineering. Currently I'm working towards my teaching endorsement and Masters in Teaching. I will also be working towards a Masters in Mathematics after that.
I would say that my main idea on teaching a subject like math is to keep the students engaged in the class and not staring at nothing. I will delay modules until I feel that they are ready to move on to the next section, because math concepts are stepping stones towards the next concept.
