Second Step SEL is research-based, teacher-informed, and classroom-tested to promote the social-emotional development, safety, and well-being of children from Early Learning through Grade 8.

2nd Step

All students grades 6-12 are offered both direct and indirect counseling services. The district offers a part-time school counselor, and we also have a mental health practitioner and a social worker who are available one day a week.

The middle school curriculum focuses on:

  • Career education (in conjunction with helping to plan the Careers class)
  • 7th and 8th Grade: Engage! Curriculum
  • 6th Grade: Thrively website focuses on strengths and interests
  • Processing Group offered through ESU 16
  • Education on Bullying
  • Time management

The high school curriculum focuses on:

  • Social/emotional strengthening and support
