CARES Act Provides Funding For School Meals

Parents and Guardians,

The USDA originally began allowing students to receive free school meals funded by the CARES Act through December 31, 2020 or until the funds are exhausted, whichever is first. However there has also been talk of potentially extending the CARES Act through the school year; June 2021.  We will do our best to keep families notified as information becomes available. As for now, our school has elected to implement the free meals beginning on August 13, 2020. All student accounts will be credited for meal charges assessed since August 13, 2020; a la carte purchases cannot be credited back to accounts and future a la carte purchases will be charged.  If funds do not become available to continue through the school year, students will be provided meals based on Free, Reduced and Paid meal eligibility beginning January 1, 2021 or when the CARES Act funding is no longer available. In that case, we will communicate promptly to families that meal charges will return to normal operations based on student eligibility for Free, Reduced and Paid price meals.
