1st grade used shaving cream to work on missing numbers and missing addends!
The 2nd-grade students investigated the causes of canyons. In the activity, Cornmeal Canyons, students created a model landform using cornmeal. Then they dripped water over this “land” to observe how water can change shape and understand how canyons can be formed over long periods through a similar process.
The next regular meeting of the Mullen Board of Education will be Monday, January 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the 6-12 library. Upon advertisement, a draft of the agenda will be available for public inspection on the school website, the NASB Sparq website, and by request to the Superintendent’s office during regular office hours

TeamMates Recognition between Varsity Contests
With the generous donation of grant funds from the Turner Community Youth Foundation, 3rd grade was able to purchase Edison robots. Learning coding skills, problem solving, and collaboration techniques with these robots has been an exciting new addition to our classroom! The incorporation of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) into our current curriculum will inspire and cultivate a love of learning for our students. We are so thankful!

Due to the Winter Weather Advisory impacting our area, the basketball games scheduled for Saturday January 4, 2025 vs Maywood Hayes Center at Maywood have been postponed . The National Weather Service has advised us that travel will be difficult due to freezing fog /rain along with accumulating snow in the Maywood/North Platte area. We will look to find a makeup date with MHC in the future. No winter sports activities will take place tomorrow Saturday January 4, 2025.
Just a reminder to come support your Broncos Friday 5:00 at the Hilltop and also the track team will be drawing for their fan bundles at the halftime of the girls game.
The Hilltop Gym will NOT be available for gym membership use during the following times this week for Winter Sports Practices

On Saturday December 28, 2024, there will be an Emergency Management Services training held by Lifenet. Lifenet will be parking their helicopter on the softball field. We are notifying patrons to not be concerned as this is a training session. Thank you
The 4th grade students gathered items and made 9 gift bags to distribute to residents of the Mullen community. Students enjoyed delivering the gift bags Friday morning.
The 6th grade FCS class also learned about basic food safety and sanitation. They worked together to make puppy chow and mini fruit pizzas. (Post 2 of 2)
The 6th grade FCS class has been busy this quarter! They learned about the ages and stages of child development and made play dough to share with the kindergarten class. (Post 1 of 2)
High five to senior Maggie Haelser for earning her Intuit Quickbooks Online Certification! This credential will travel with her into college and beyond and serve as proof of her abilities as a QuickBooks user. Nice work, Maggie!!
Reminder to 9-12 Students over the break. Moratorium from Dec 22- 26. NO Access to School Facilities during this time. Students may: a. Continue to work out/condition on their own in facilities not owned by the school, including workouts or activities with family members; b. Receive individualized instruction from an individual who is not the school coach, sponsor, or other adult associated with the school activity program; and c. Receive physical therapy or rehabilitation services at facilities not owned by the school.
