8 8th Graders, 4 college campuses, 2 days, 0 minutes wasted. The 8th Grade students were able to utilize an EducationQuest 8th Grade Campus Visit grant to visit Hastings College, Central Community College - Hastings, Central Community College - Grand Island, and the University of Nebraska - Kearney. These colleges pulled out all the stops to show the students opportunities beyond high school.
We have spent this quarter completing interest inventories, learning about strengths and values, and learning about plans to achieve career goals. After this visit, we will be mapping out courses in high school and beyond to reach their future endeavors.

The track team had a successful day at the Paxton Invite today. The boys placed 2nd and the girls placed 5th. Chase Gracey broke the meet record in the 300 m hurdles and Peyton Paxton broke the 3200 m record! Pictured are the boys with their Runner Up plaque.

The 2nd-grade students examine how large structures like houses are built from smaller pieces. They were challenged to make their structures with paper. The first challenge was to build tall towers, the 2nd was to build towers strong enough to support a hardcover book.

The Freshmen and Sophomores spent March Madness reading and analyzing poetry. The bracket was completed last week with the poems being voted upon by the students for each poetry face off.
