We had a smaller group this month, but we learned about blood. The kids were able to create a model of the 4 components of blood using candy to represent the different parts. We would like to thank the Nebraska Library Commission and Prairie STEM for the kits!

Mullen FCCLA had a great day at the District 10 STAR Competition. STAR stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition and serves as one of the competitive events in FCCLA. 10 students traveled to Thedford on January 22nd to compete against others from across the area. All 10 qualified for the state competition in April in Lincoln.
Scoring is based on a rubric out of 100 points, so there may be several gold, silver or bronze medalists in each division. The results are as follows:
