Congratulations to our 2025 March Mammal Madness bracket winners, Tate Kvanvig (1st) and Cayden Hampton (2nd). March Mammal Madness is an annual simulated tournament inspired by NCAA college basketball's March Madness but instead pits living organisms against each other to determine who would win in a simulated battle. The tournament was developed by scientists at Arizona State University as a fun way to engage students in learning about the natural world. This year over 900,000 students across the US participated! The junior class is in charge of scoring and tabulating brackets in Mrs Hardin's Earth Science class. If you're learning, you're winning!

Last night, we had an amazing science fair. I want to thank the students, parents, and judges for all of their hard work in making this happen. The 6th grade winner was Ava Walz, with her experiment on bread mold. The 7th grade winner was Justin Kraus, with his experiment on launching air planes with different weights. The 8th grade winner was Maci Walz, with her experiment on the pH's of different candies. Maci was also chosen to be the best overall trifold for the 2025 science fair.
