**********************REMINDER************************ MEDICAL PHYSICALS FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR The NSAA is allowing all Pre-Participation Physical Examinations for the 2019-2020 school year to be acceptable for the 2020-2021 seasons. This recommendation is for a one-year exemption only and does not include incoming freshmen. They continue to require that incoming freshmen students visit their primary care providers for the physical examination. All incoming freshmen (9th grade students) are required to provide the school with the PPE paperwork PRIOR TO STARTING PRACTICES. Therefore, any Mullen student athletes in grades 10th, 11th, or 12th, that have a physical exam on file from 2019-2020 are valid for the 2020-2021 school year. Nebraska state law also requires all incoming 7th grade students and all incoming Kindergarten students to provide documentation of a physical examination prior to the start of the school year. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Kuncl or Mr. Kvanvig.

After much deliberation and discussion with West Central Health, we have decided that we are going to continue forward and hold graduation as scheduled on Saturday July 18 at 4:00 PM. While we have had community concern with positive tests for COVID-19, to our knowledge there have been ZERO positive tests from the feared exposure over the past couple of weeks. After consultation with the health district, they are comfortable with us hosting the event indoors. With the forecast at 98 degrees, we believe the Hilltop would be much more comfortable than the football field. With that said, MASKS will be HIGHLY ENCOURAGED/ RECOMMENDED and if you do not have one, they will be available with the graduation programs. The gym and weight room will be reopened today and all scheduled activities will continue. Please remember if you do not feel well, stay home and follow the protocols given by West Central Health Department.

This message is on behalf of West Central Health Department and Hirshfelds to inform you that a student of Mullen Public Schools has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was in attendance at the prom that was held on July 1st in North Platte. If you or any of your family members were in attendance at Prom on July 1st, West Central recommends that you quarantine immediately. If your student brought an outside date, please contact them immediately and have them follow the same directions. West Central is also asking you to visit their website at wcdhd.org and fill out their screening questionnaire. After that is complete, please contact West Central Health at 308-696-1201 to see if you need to be tested. Testing is the only way to expedite the quarantine. This is the safest way to ensure that COVID-19 does not spread throughout our community. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Kuncl. Updates on other events such as Graduation, Camps, Summer Weights, and Gym Weight Membership will be updated as information is available.
